Q.

good morning doctor my kid is 4 day old he is having conjugated bilurubin 0.36mg/dl and un conjugated bilurubin 15.57mg/dl .he Is cranky and overly feeding I had cserean 4 days back and my milk isn't sufficient to him he is confused am giving him dexolac 1 am worried pls help Is this jaundice need to be worried

A. baby is newborn To boost lactation take lactare tablet and galact granules add oats and meat in the diet take lots of the oral fluids maintain hydration and keep a track on urine output

A. Hi mom No need to get worried. Jaundice is very much common in new born babies. so no need to worry. Secondly the more you feed the more milk production will be there. Have shatavari with warm milk twice a day to increase your breast milk supply

Q. Hi, my baby is 1 month 9 days old no formula only breastfed. At birth, the bilirubin levels were: Total bilirubin: 10.0 mg/dL Direct bilirubin: 0.70 mg/dL Indirect bilirubin: 9.30 mg/dL Current levels are: Total bilirubin: 10.7 mg/dL Conjugated bilirubin: 2.0 mg/dL Unconjugated bilirubin: 8.7 mg/dL So while the total bilirubin is only slightly higher, the direct/conjugated bilirubin has increased significantly from 0.70 to 2.0 mg/dL. Our paediatrician has suggested a liver ultrasound in a couple of days, but I am just trying to put my mind at ease in the meantime. Could someone help me understand what this change might indicate? Does this still suggest jaundice, and is phototherapy usually required in this situation?
