no please don't give Medicines by own.
instead of it ,it is best to give mixture of jeggary + pinch of turmeric powder and dry ginger powder in one tsp quantity twice in a day.
keep your child well hydrated
give luke warm water to drink
use Babyhug rapid relief rub.
