Q.

#asktheexperts why shouldn't we use antibiotics for babies? We moved to abroad just 3 months before as family and here they don't prescribe antibiotics. All they give is paracetamol and Ibuprofen for babies & adults, whatever the fever or general pain might be.

A. P120, Alreid and Clavam/Taxim was recommended by our pediatrician from India, and so we used it last month when he had a fever and cold. Since we couldn't reach him due to the time zone difference, we gave 1 dosage as per last time, but then since my baby had running nose and was very much tired we visited the local GP here and they advised to stop antibiotics and suggested only Paracetamol, antihistamine and nasal drops. Shouldn't we repeat medications.

A. you cannot give antibiotics without medical consultation. also if it's viral infection or an allergy then therex is no role of antibiotics. all infection and illness doe not require antibiotics. also dosage is given as per infection and type of disease. meet your drx for proper advice.
