Q.

#asktheexperts My baby is 8 months old, she is suffering from severe cough, we have given Kofarest but there is no progress. Could you please advise

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inyhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anthhi allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Nebulisation is one of the best things that I can actually suggest you to go ahead with for your child because due to severe condition this is one of the best things that’s going to be actually very helpful for your child is my suggestion is the same would you first you talk to your doctor about it
