To help relieve her symptoms, she should drink warm fluids like ginger tea or warm water with honey and lemon, avoid cold or oily foods, and gargle with warm salt water 2–3 times a day. A steam inhalation may also help loosen the mucus in her throat. If the cough persists for more than a few days, worsens, or is accompanied by fever or difficulty breathing, it's best to consult a doctor for proper treatment.
