POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. It’s completely okay if your 1 year and 1-month-old baby is still breastfeeding and not accepting cow milk. Breast milk continues to provide excellent nutrition even after 1 year. However, at this age, babies also need solid foods for proper growth and development.
Here’s what you can do:
Keep breastfeeding as long as both mom and baby are comfortable — it still provides immunity and bonding. Offer other dairy products like: Curd/yogurt (plain and homemade is best) Paneer (homemade cottage cheese) Cheese in small quantities Make food richer in calcium and healthy fats through: Ragi (nachni), tofu, egg yolk, ghee, and soaked almonds (if no allergy) Try offering cow milk in different ways: Mix a small amount into porridge, suji kheer, or oats Try giving it in a sippy cup or straw cup instead of a bottle Flavour with a pinch of cardamom or offer warm if preferred
Don’t worry if he refuses cow milk — focus on variety in food and dairy alternatives. As long as your child is active, gaining weight steadily, and eating solids well, he’s doing fine.
