#asktheexperts hello doctor my 3.5 years old son is having cough and cold since last one month and my pediatrician ask me to do x-ray. when reports come it says he is having viral phenumonia and because of it may be he is having on off fever also. doctor give us advice that we should get hospitalised and we should do iv antibiotics course so he get recovery also but I don't why this happens and in future what kind of precautions I can take to prevent this kind of illness.

along with that cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given.
steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.
