#asktheexperts Hello doctor can i take (for mommy not for baby) any medicine for motions during breastfeed. Is it safe for baby..?

A. for constipation or loose motion?? Avoid taking food which causes constipation and include more of green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet and drink adequate water for loose motion you can take liquid enterogermina 5ml.

A. Loperamide (Imodium®) is the drug most widely used. The dose is two capsules to start then one after each loose bowel motion. It can be taken by breastfeeding mothers as it is poorly absorbed from the gut and minimal amounts reach breastmilk.
