A. If your newborn baby is not sleeping at night, don’t worry—this is common because their sleep cycle is not yet developed. However, if the baby stays awake for long hours or is fussy, here’s what you can do: Possible Reasons & Solutions: 1️⃣ Baby's Day & Night Confusion Newborns often mix up day and night. ✔ Expose them to daylight during the day and keep nights dark & quiet. ✔ Limit daytime naps to 2-3 hours and wake the baby for feeds. 2️⃣ Hunger Babies wake frequently if they are not full. ✔ Feed on demand every 2-3 hours. ✔ Burp after every feed to avoid gas discomfort. 3️⃣ Gas or Colic (Common at Night) Baby cries, pulls legs up, or has a bloated tummy. ✔ Do tummy massage & bicycle leg movements. ✔ Use anti-colic drops (only if doctor prescribes). 4️⃣ Overstimulation Before Bedtime ✔ Dim lights & avoid loud sounds before sleep. ✔ Swaddle the baby for comfort. 5️⃣ Uncomfortable Room Temperature ✔ Keep the room around 24-26°C (not too hot or cold). ✔ Dress baby in light cotton clothes. 6️⃣ Diaper Discomfort / Wetness ✔ Change the diaper before bedtime to keep baby dry. ⚠ When to See a Doctor? Baby cries non-stop despite trying everything. Baby refuses to feed. Baby has fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Would you like a step-by-step night routine for better sleep? Let me know!
