#asktheexpert sir my baby's umbilical cord is not healed yet she is 6 weeks old. I use neosporin now

Chitradevi PMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Hi Mom, During the healing process, it is normal to see a little blood near the stump. Much like a scab, the cord stump might bleed a little when it falls off.
However, contact your child doctor, if the umblical area oozes pus, the surroundings skin become red and swollen. Thank you.
