#AskTheExpert sir mere beta 5 saal ka hai usko 10 din se fever aaya hua hai starting me he doc ne cbc karaaya jisme infection aaya to 5 din ki antibiotic chali wo theek bhi ho gaya tha fever nhi tha. 6th day ki night se usko fir se fever aa gaya 102degree paracetamol dene pe bhi fever 100.2 tak he down ho raha hai. test karwaye typhoid and cbc sab normal hai. please give some suggestion for my problem

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose oguf 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Ucrine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
