Q.

#asktheexpert she is now 45 days of age and my question is regarding holding position. I am holding her straight supporting her on my back and head with her chin down my head. With this position the gas gets expelled and the baby seems happy. but my relatives are not happy and say that this will affect her backbone. I can make her sleep with this position

A. a baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will stand with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking independently and sometimes it may take even longer but in no case any Walker should be acgvoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking because the child lacks confidence of walking independently.
