Q.
#AskTheExpert My son Rehan is suffering from fever last two days. High fever (101.6-102.0) .No cough ,no running nose, no throught pain. I gave him mefenamic acid dispersible table .pls give me some advice.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid syp preparations.
cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 8 m old boy3 years agoA. Hi mom. Viral fever can take 3-5 days to subside. So no need to worry. Repeat the dose after five six hours if fever comes again. It will be fine. Take care and all the best
