POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. A small round bump on a 15-day-old newborn's head can be normal in many cases, especially if it’s soft and not causing discomfort. It might be:
Caput succedaneum – soft swelling due to pressure during delivery, usually resolves on its own. Cephalohematoma – a firm bump caused by minor bleeding under the scalp during birth; it can take weeks or months to go away but usually doesn’t need treatment. Normal head shape changes – newborn skull bones are soft and can shift during birth.
However, if the bump is growing, feels warm, red, causes pain, or your baby seems irritable or feeds poorly, it’s important to consult a pediatrician to rule out infection or other concerns.
