#AskTheExpert my daughter is having cough and cold.thr doctor prescribed medicine for 7days...but she is still dealing with the problem of cough..so what should I do... whether will continue the medicine till it fully cured or should stop as its couse is over

Cold and cough in small babies are because of viral infections you have to treat them symptomatically with steam inhalation and saline drops in the nose of the baby e they will subside generally in a week's time

Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are  usually associated .
Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful .
Mecdicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used  inf a proper dose  for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .
Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .

You can actually also start nebulising the child if it is not subsiding and also you can give steam to the child indirectly two times in the day you can do these things twice a day for five days along with the medication that your doctor has advised to go for it will be quite helpful as of now.Write Your Answer Here
