#asktheexpert my daughter is almost 3years old now. however she gets cough very frequently. her chest is always congested. we give her medicines on time whenever she gets cough. but is there any solution so that it should occur frequently ?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along wiqnth a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
