Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. This can occur due to either allergy or infection and some times due to weather changes and temperature variations around the child.
For cold you can give syp allegra 2.5 ml twice daily to the child.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops every three hourly for nasal blockage and simple cough and cold. Indirect steam will also help.
Go for home remediesx like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.(honey can be added after 1 year age)
Give warm water to drink
If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor
For fever and pain give paracetamol.
POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. I'm sorry to hear that your seven-month-old is dealing with a chest cough. Here are a few things you can do:
1. **Keep the Air Moist**: Use a cool-mist humidifier or take your baby into a steamy bathroom to help ease congestion.
2. **Elevate Sleeping Position**: Prop up your baby's head slightly to help with breathing.
3. **Fluids**: Ensure your baby is drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
4. **Saline Drops**: Saline nasal drops can help loosen mucus in the nose before suctioning it out gently.
5. **Monitor Closely**: Watch for any signs of breathing difficulty or high fever. If symptoms worsen or persist, consult a pediatrician promptly.
If the cough persists or if your baby shows signs of distress, it's best to seek medical advice.
