#AskTheExpert My children are 8 days old ...how frequently should I breast feed them ...should l feed them when they cry for it or shud I make feed even while they are sleeping. what should be the timetable

Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children3 years agoA. a newborn baby will be taking feeding frequently you have to feed the baby depending on the demand Further it is advisable to consult your local doctor for appropriate advice in this regard if there is need for investigations also

Baby should take a feat for 20 to 40 minutes at a time and you have to repeat of feeding in every two hours gap. Even in night you have to feed your baby in every two hours gap. Baby should be totally on mother’s milk and there is no need to give anything else till six months
