A. It could be because of reflux. When a baby has reflux some milk that he has taken along with the stomach acid pops up to the esophagus and causes irritation, spit up or vomit. Try to burp the baby well and hold in the upright position for some time before laying down on the back. Keeping the baby's head elevated compared to the body or laying the baby to sleep on left side could sometimes help. Doctors may prescribe medicine to lessen the stomach acidity. In general, reflux gets over on its own as the baby grows older.
