#asktheexpert my baby not gain weight. he is 5th month. when we introduce solid food

A. Namaste Mom, Babies monthly weight gain is expected in the range of 400 gm to 1 kg and by age of 4 to 6 months they almost double their birth weight. you can now introduce weaning foods starting with liquid foods first . such as dal, rice water , vegetable soup, fresh fruit juices etc , once they accept it well you can move to semi solid and mashed foods such as porridges, steamed vegetables, fruits , ghee, kichidi, dal rice , curds etc
