#AskTheExpert my baby is just 5 months old habing cough and feel uncomfortable when I am feeding

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very usjyeful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

You can give indirect steam with warm water twice a day rather than this you should always try to keep your baby in normal room temperature and don’t change the temperature of surroundings frequently. You can also use nasal clear drops to clean your baby’s nose
