#asktheexpert my baby is 5 month old, but not breastfeeding now a days, hardly 2 to 3 mins he does, I am expressing milk and feeding him through bottle, that too he is not having, he seems not interested, only while sleeping he is feeding properly, Due to this problem I have started formula milk also that also he is not liking, he is hardly taking 90 to 120 ml of milk

A. breast refusal is very common around this age .. Make skin to skin contact more and cuddles with no pressure to feed. Turn off the TV, mobile, any matchine noice get rid of all distractions while feeding. Try to feed in dark room..play some soft white noice. If you can bf as much as possible and express after feed and try to feed with spoon. You can also dream feed your baby

A. Common causes of a breast-feeding strike include: Pain or discomfort. Teething, thrush or a cold sore can cause mouth pain during breast-feeding, and an ear infection can cause pain during sucking or lying on one side.
