Q.

#AskTheExpert My baby is 4 months 8days old. She discharge a lot of saliva from mouth throughout the day that we have to change her dress 4-5 times. Whenever she is awake she pulls everything inside her mouth that comes in her hand. If doesn't find anything she puts her own hand in her mouth. Is it normal or we should do something about it?

A. Hello, It is normal While it's true that drooling is very common for children around 2-3 months old, and typically lasts until a child reaches 12-15 months-s (roughly the same age that teething begins) drooling merely means your baby's salivary glands are starting to fire up after not being needed as much when eating easy-to-digest milk.
