#asktheexpert my baby is 1 yr 8 months old and he suffers from hard stool problems frequently. Without the help of laxatives as prescribed by the paediatrician he finds it difficult to defecate often. Is there any permanent solution to this? Please prescribe. Joydeep Sarkar, Kolkata, WB.

A. Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Changes in diet has to be made Specially give papaya, banana, oats, fennel seeds water pear, prune, pineapple, resins, plum as it will help in decreasing constipation. Even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for you to know thatd the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increased or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool.

A. What happens if sometimes you do dehydration in the body of lack of water or fibre in the body of the motion can be really hard so try and increase the intake of liquids for the child that should definitely be much beneficial for the kid
