POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy5 months agoA. A 2-month-old baby having a mild cough (4-5 times a day) can be due to several reasons:
Possible Reasons: Dry Air or Dust – Can irritate the baby's throat. Mild Cold or Congestion – Common in babies due to a developing immune system. Reflux (Spit-Up) – Acid reflux can sometimes cause mild coughing. Allergies or Irritants – Smoke, strong smells, or perfumes can trigger a cough. Post-Feeding Cough – If milk enters the wrong passage, babies may cough briefly. How to Cure & Manage:
✅ Keep the Air Moist – Use a humidifier in the room or keep a bowl of water near the baby’s bed.
✅ Nasal Saline Drops – If the baby has nasal congestion, saline drops can help clear it.
✅ Proper Burping – Ensure proper burping after feeding to reduce reflux-related coughing.
✅ Breastfeeding – Continue breastfeeding, as it boosts immunity.
✅ Avoid Strong Smells & Smoke – Keep the baby away from perfumes, incense, and pollution.
When to See a Doctor?

⚠️ Baby has difficulty breathing or wheezing.
⚠️ There is fever, chest congestion, or reduced feeding.
Since it is occasional (4-5 times a day), it might not be serious, but keep observing. Let me know if symptoms worsen!
