#AskTheExpert my 1 month old baby keeps saliva in mouth and wakes up with a cough. what could be the reason Dr.?

A. it is the cold vural .Blockage of nose is due to the common cold and flu due to season variation . Steam along with other home remedy like maintaining baby temperature will help . Nasal drop like nasovion for block . Other medications like paracetamol for fever can be given if any fever .

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only afihter a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
