#AskTheExpert #Mamypoko Hi doctor, My child is one month old now. But her umbilical cord is not yet dried... It looks as shown in attached photo.. We consulted local pediatrician, and he said it will recover soon. Please advice.

A. umbilical granuloma / umbilical polyp they are usually remnants of umbilicus post delivery. usually does not require any type of major treatment except neosporine powder application or t-bact cream application and maintenance of hygiense and proper cleanliness. if it continues to persist beyond 6 months of age requires surgical intervention like quarterization or ligation removal s
