#AskTheExpert Mam am 13 weeks pregnant now. in my first trimester had 3.77 TSH and took thyroxine 12.5 everyday.. 2 weeks back I stopped thyroxine tablet and tested TFT. doctor scolded me for stopping thyroxine medication and stated brain development will be affected. am worried about this. will it affect my baby's growth mam?

A. It is true that you should not stop the medication, but as the TSH levels were not that high, it is still fine if you missed a couple of medication, but don’t let it happen again

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and any medicine or vitamins supplements should be taken and leave with your gynaecologist prescription and instructions otherwise it may impact on your baby. Take care
