Q.

#AskTheExpert I was advised to give Iron supplement to my daughter when she turned 4 months old which is still continuing. However she has started having constipation related issues most likely because of the iron supplement as the constipation stops if we stop giving her the iron supplement for few days and constipation starts when we restart the supplement. When I consulted the doctor regarding this, the doctor said that the supplement is to be given because her birth weight was 2.58 kgs and children with this is weight generally have iron deficiency. Although I have received mixed suggestions regarding whether or not is it necessary to give the supplement. Please guide.
