Q.

#AskTheExpert I have 2 year old daughter, she doesn't chew her food. Due to this her diet intake is very less and interest in eating is also very less. I have tried different variety of food but she doesn't show interest due to which she is under weight. Please suggest what to do. Thanks doctor.

A. Offer new foods when you and your child are relaxed, and your child isn't too tired or distracted by other things. Set a time limit of about 20 minutes for a meal. If your child hasn't eaten the food, take it away and don't offer an alternative snack or meal. Avoid punishing your child for refusing to try new foods.
