#asktheexpert hi doctor this is sunil here my baby is 9 months old..we tried to give her semi solid food but she can't able to digest it she got constipation please let us know what needs to be done? can we give the food in liquid form if so from when we need to give her semi solid food? if we give food in liquid form whether her weight will increase? breastfeeding is still going on for her. regards sunil

A. Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Changes in diet has to be made Specially give papaya, banana, oats, fennel seeds water pear, prune, pineapple, resins, plum as it will help in decreasing constipation. Even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for yxou to know that the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increase or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool.
