#asktheexpert Hi Doctor, My baby of age 1 year 6 months, yesterday morning she had opv booster and dpt booster vaccination, from yesterday afternoon she unable to walk and swelling was there also fever. Can you pls advice

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. when fever and pain comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain.
paracetamol can be given maximum 4 tzimes per day.
you can also apply ice over the injection site.
if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophob gel.
vaccine fever usually subsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues bxeyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever
