#asktheexpert Hi doctor, my baby is 17 months old he is not talking yet he started telling tha tha , na na avva like that, I'm worried. Could you please suggest.

A. Have fun playing with toys that make a noise. Start to understand a few simple words, like 'drink', 'shoe' and 'car'. They might recognise simple instructions like 'kiss mummy', 'kick ball' and 'give me'. Point to things when asked, like familiar people and objects such as 'book' and 'ball'.Recite nursery rhymes and sing songs. Play rhymes, stories and songs in the car. Copy your child's attempts at words to encourage two-way conversation. Also build on your child's words – for example, when your toddler says 'train', you can say, 'Yes, it's a big red train'.
