A. If your one-month, ten-day-old baby is struggling while passing stool and appears in pain, it could be due to mild constipation or gas. Since newborns have an immature digestive system, their stools may sometimes become hard or infrequent. You can try gently massaging the baby’s tummy in a circular motion, moving the legs in a bicycle motion, and giving a warm bath to relax the muscles. If breastfeeding, ensure the mother is consuming a fiber-rich diet to help with digestion. If formula-fed, check with a pediatrician about possible adjustments. If the baby’s stool is hard, has blood, or the discomfort continues, consult a doctor for proper guidance.
