A. At nine months, babies should ideally start eating a variety of soft, mashed, or finely chopped solid foods along with breast milk or formula. If your baby is refusing solids, don’t worryβ€”many babies take time. Here's what you can do: What to Offer: Mashed vegetables: carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin Fruits: banana, apple puree, pear mash Cereals: rice porridge, suji (semolina) kheer, oats with milk Protein: well-cooked moong dal, mashed egg yolk, mashed paneer Finger foods: soft fruits or boiled veggie sticks he can hold Snacks: soft khichdi, idli, upma Tips if He Refuses: Try small portions and one new food at a time. Offer food when he's calm and slightly hungry. Let him explore food with hands; messiness is normal. Sit and eat with him so he copies you. Be patient and try the same food again after a few days. If refusal continues and he's not gaining weight or shows signs of deficiency, consult a pediatrician. W
