Q.

#AskTheExpert during the sleeping time the baby will not drink properly .I don't know the proper reason for that pls clarify that

A. yes sir .He gained a gud weight and I have one more question that during sleeping time gmhe is not burping .Is that problem for his digestion

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is tafking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no need to to go for hourly feeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weight of the child is within normal limits .

A. Newborns who sleep for longer stretches should be awakened to feed. Wake your baby every 3–4 hours to eat until he or she shows good weight gain, which usually happens within the first couple of weeks. After that, it's OK to let your baby sleep for longer periods of time at night.
