#asktheexpert congenital hypothyroidism has been detected in my baby at 2 months (actual age). she was born preterm at 35 weeks. what are the risks involved now given that it has been detected after 2 months. PS: no screening was done at the time of birth.

A. Actually she look at it these days every child is going to be literally thyroid positive when you get the testing done in an early so right now there’s nothing you need to do there is no such risk in what let your child complete the age of one year then you repeat the test if then you see the thyroid is there then you consult your doctor for further assistance right now I don’t think so there is any problem in this
