#askthedoctor what happened when we start to introduce food before 6 month even I had enough to feed

A. Dear mum, baby’s digestive system is not mature till 6 months. So, if you introduce top food before 6 months then it increases the risk of infection for your baby.

A. Starting solids too early — before age 4 months — might: Pose a risk of food being sucked into the airway (aspiration) Cause a baby to get too many or not enough calories or nutrients. Increase a baby's risk of obesity.
