#askthedoctor my 3 months old is straining hard to poop and seemed uncomfortable but the poop was as always paste like and not hard. what might be the reason for straining? it was only since couple of days normally she was not like this

A. straining while passing urine and stool is very normal before completion of 6 months of age. sometimes this can continue for one year off age also. it usually occurs due to the distention of the urinary bladder and rectum of the child. the sensation is new for the child that's why the child is crying if you feel thatf the crying is more than normal you should visit a pediatrician for examination
