Masala Peanuts

The masala peanuts are the best when the munchies hit your child. This recipe uses very less oil and healthy too! Peanuts are packed with essential nutrition and aid in bodily functions. These are quite addictive, hence keep an eye on how much your little one is munching away!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp gram flour/besan.
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala

Method 

Step 1

Soak the peanuts in water for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside

Step 2

In a separate bowl, add rest of the ingredients and mix. Add the soaked and drained peanuts to this prepared mixture.

Step 3

Stir the peanuts well, so that the masala gets covered on to the peanuts nicely. Arrange the peanuts on to a microwave safe plate in single layer. If the quantity is more than what will fit in a plate, you can do it in 2-3 batches.

Step 4

Microwave it on a high for 1 minute. Take it out and using a spoon remove any lumps. Microwave it again for a minute. Repeat it 3-4 times until they are crisp.

Step 5

Handle the plate with caution as it will get hotter by the minute. Do the same with all the peanuts.

Step 6

Let them cool down completely as they will get crisper as they cool. Store them in an airtight container.

Step 7

It is a great snack that kids can munch on. You can also enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee.
