15 Homemade Face Packs That Will Have You Coming Out of the Lockdown with Radiant Skin!
Ladies, let’s face the truth: we all miss our salon trips right now. Whether it’s to get a facial clean-up, a skin rejuvenation treatment, a trim or wax here and there, or the occasional massage – those salon appointments are precious me-time! There’s nothing to beat that amazing feeling of being happy about ourselves, our skin, and our bodies.
But now, you’re probably resorting to stealing 15 – 20 minutes of the day to give to yourself (sometimes only available to you on the weekend!) and wanting to research how to do a home facial treatment, but not being able to get around to it. Energetic little kids and work occupy more of your time than you imagine!

You can slather them onto your face and go about your work and chores, or take back your me-time and sit with a good book or your favourite TV show!
These face packs are for oily skin, dry skin, and combination skin. We know how tough it can be to find an all-inclusive list! Some common ingredients you’ll find in these face packs are honey, turmeric (haldi), and yoghurt (curd). They are known for their soothing, hydrating, and anti-bacterial properties, making them popular in skincare recipes.

Face Packs for Oily Skin
1. Neem and Turmeric
Duration on skin: 15 – 20 minutes till dry.
Usage: Thrice a week
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon worth of neem leaves paste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric (haldi) powder
- 1 teaspoon water (if needed)
Instructions:
- Grind the neem leaves to make a paste.
- Add the turmeric to this and mix well. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water.
- Apply the pack for 15 to 20 minutes till it dries, and then wash it off.
- As an alternative, substitute the turmeric for a few drops of rose water.
2. Banana and Honey
Duration on skin: 20 minutes
Usage: Once a week
Ingredients:
- 1 mashed banana
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- This face pack may get a bit messy, so wear some old clothes before you put this on!
- Mash the banana well.
- Add the honey and lemon juice to it. Mix well.
- Apply this all over the face for the recommended time.
- Wash off with lukewarm water.
3. Turmeric, Rice Flour and Milk
Duration on skin: 15 minutes till dry
Usage: Daily/weekly
Ingredients:
- 3 teaspoons rice flour
- Pinch of turmeric
- 2 – 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix the rice flour and turmeric together.
- Add in the milk and honey (if using), and mix well to get a smooth paste.
- Apply this all over the face for about 15 minutes, and wash it off with lukewarm water.
4. Tomato, Rice Flour and Honey
Duration on skin: 15 minutes, then rub in circular motion and wash off.
Usage: Daily
Ingredients:
- A few tablespoons of fresh tomato juice
- 3 teaspoons rice flour
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- Mix the rice flour and honey together.
- Add in the tomato juice, and mix to get a smooth paste.
- Apply this all over the face for the recommended time, and then wash off!
5. Mint and Honey
Duration on skin: 30 minutes
Usage: Once in two weeks
Ingredients:
- Mint leaves paste
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- Take some mint leaves, and grind them to a smooth paste.
- Mix in the honey.
- Leave this refreshing pack on for about half an hour, and then rinse it off.
6. Besan and Yoghurt
Duration on skin: 20 minutes
Usage: Weekly
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons besan
- 1 tablespoon yoghurt (curd)
Instructions:
- Mix the besan and yoghurt well to make a paste.
- Apply the pack and keep it on for about 20 minutes till it dries.
- Rinse it off under cold water.
Face Packs for Dry Skin
1. Watermelon and Honey
Duration on skin: 20 minutes
Usage: Maximum thrice a week
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon fresh watermelon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions:
- Mix the freshly squeezed watermelon juice and honey together.
- Apply the mixture all over the face for about 20 minutes, and then wash off!
2. Aloe Vera and Honey
Duration on skin: 15 minutes
Usage: Twice a week
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons fresh aloe gel
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sandalwood (chandan) powder (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix the ingredients together to make a smooth paste.
- Apply and keep this pack on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.
3. Aloe Vera and Cucumber
Duration on skin: 30 minutes
Usage: Four times a week
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon fresh aloe gel
- 1 tablespoon worth of fresh cucumber pulp

- Mix the fresh aloe vera gel and cucumber pulp together.
- Leave this refreshing mask on for the recommended time, and then rinse it off.
4. Oatmeal, Yogurt and Honey
Duration on skin: 10 – 15 minutes
Usage: Once a week
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon yoghurt (curd)
- 1 teaspoon oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- Mix the ingredients well to make a nice, smooth paste.
- Apply and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Rinse off under warm water.
5. Cocoa and Coconut Milk
Duration on skin: 10 – 12 minutes
Usage: Once a week
Ingredients:
- ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon oatmeal/besan
- ½ tablespoon honey
Instructions:
- Mix all the ingredients well to get a smooth paste.
- Apply this invigorating pack for the recommended time, and then wash off!
6. Papaya, Honey and Malai
Duration on skin: 15 – 20 minutes
Usage: 1 – 2 times a week
Ingredients:
- 8 – 10 papaya cubes
- 1 teaspoon malai or milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions:
- Mash the papaya cubes well.
- Add in the malai/milk and honey. Mix well to get a smooth paste.
- Apply and leave on for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Wash off with lukewarm water.
Face Packs for Combination Skin
1. Almonds and Oatmeal
Duration on skin: 15 – 20 minutes
Usage: Once a week
Ingredients:
- 10 almonds (soaked overnight in water)
- 1 tablespoon oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- Grind the soaked almonds to make a paste.
- Mix in the oatmeal, yoghurt and honey, and make it smooth.
- Leave this pack on for about 15 to 20 minutes, and then wash off.

Duration on skin: 15 – 20 minutes
Usage: 1 – 2 times a week
Ingredients:
- 8 papaya cubes
- ½ banana
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
- Mash the papaya cubes and banana well. (Use 1 entire banana if half isn’t enough!)
- Add the honey, and mix well to get a nice paste.
- Leave this pack on the face till it dries (about 15 minutes), and then wash it off.
3. Papaya and Tomato
Duration on skin: 15 minutes
Usage: 1 – 2 times a week
Ingredients:
- 8 – 10 papaya cubes
- 1 – 2 tablespoons fresh tomato pulp

- Mash the papaya cubes well.
- Mix in the fresh tomato pulp, and make a nice, smooth paste.
