1. Popsicle Stick Snowflakes

Make your Christmas tree decoration lively and glittery with this Popsicle Stick Snowflake art. The more ornaments on your tree, the better it is. Suitable for kids of any age, you can even a pre-schooler to make these.

What You Will Need:

• Popsicle sticks of any colour (if you are using white ones then just paint them)
• Glue and a hot glue gun
• Glitter stickers
• Christmas bells
• Silver glitter
• Pom poms ( glittery ones or tinsel ones)
• Twines or threads for hanging

Procedure:

• Start by painting your popsicle sticks. That could be part of the fun too. If using coloured ones, move to the next step.
• Glue your popsicle sticks together in the shape of a snowflake. Put some glue in the middle of the popsicle sticks and stick them together.
• Once the glue dries, start decorating. Let your imagination run wild. First, start by sticking the glitter all over the popsicle sticks. Then add some bells in the centre or one or every stick. Stick the pompoms to the ends of the stick.
• Now, glue a piece of twine to one of the popsicles at the top to help it hang on the tree.

• A couple of pipe cleaners (preferably white, blue or silver)
• Beads of transparent colour

Procedure:

• First, decide the size of the snowflake you wish to make and cut the pipe cleaners accordingly.
• You will need approximately 5-6 pieces. Alternatively, you could twist one on top of the other to make a snowflake shape and trim the ends.
• Stick the pieces together at the centre with a hot glue gun.
• Now, stick the beads on each of the stems of the snowflake.
• If you wish to hang it on the Christmas tree, attach a ribbon to one of the stems and hang it.

3. Q- Tip Snowflakes

What You Will Need:

• Q-Tips
• Silver glitter
• Glue and scissors
• Blue card paper
• Silver pipe cleaners

Procedure:

• Chop the Q-tips into short and long pieces.
• Put strips of glue on the paper in the shape of a snowflake.
• Stick the Q-tips around.
• As the Q-tips are drying, use a brush and apply glue over the portion of Q-tip facing the top.
• Now, sprinkle some silver glitter over the Q-tip and let it dry.
• Once it is all dry, cut the card paper on the outline to resemble a snowflake.

• Toilet paper rolls

• Scissors
• Twine or thread

Procedure:

• First, paint the toilet paper rolls with a colour of your choice.
• Start by flattening the toilet paper rolls.
• Next, cut them in half.
• Shape the pieces into a petal.
• Glue the pieces together to make it look like a snowflake.
• Now, apply some glue on the sides of the petals of the snowflakes.
• Sprinkle some glitter and leave it to dry.
• Once dried, take twine and attach it to one of the ends to hang it on the tree.

5. Puzzle Snowflake

What You Will Need:

• 6 small puzzle pieces ( pieces must have two pointed edges at either end )
• Card
• Glue
• Paint or spray Paint
• Glitter
• Twine, thread or ribbon for hanging

Procedure:

• Dampen the puzzle pieces in water. This will help to peel off the picture. It will also make the piece light, which will make the end result less bulky.
• Cut a small portion of your card into a mini-disc shape. This will form the base of the snowflake where the pieces will be stuck together.
• Apply some glue and attach three pieces of the puzzle.
• Once it dries, apply the remaining three and leave it to dry.
• Once it all dries, use paint to paint the puzzle. Alternatively, you can use some spray paint too.
• You can let it dry and then put some glue on it. Then, sprinkle some glitter on it to make it look shiny.
• Tie a piece of thread or ribbon to one of the ends of the puzzle to make a hanging piece.

6. Coffee Filter Snowflake

What You Will Need:

• Coffee filters (you can pick cheap ones from the Dollar Store)
• Washable markers
• Water
• A measuring spoon or an eyedropper

Procedure:

• Use washable markers (purple, red or blue) to draw patterns on the coffee filter.
• Once you have drawn the patterns, take a bowl of water.
• Fill the eyedropper with some water, and slowly trickle droplets on the paint. Make sure you don’t wet it entirely.
• Leave it to dry overnight.
• Once dry, fold the coffee filter in half.
• Now, fold the right side corner to the left. This way it will be 1/3 rd of the way over.
• Now, fold the left corner neatly with the edges lining up on the right.
• If you open it then you will have perfect thirds.
• Fold the coffee filter in half one last time.
• An easier way for kids is to get them to fold the coffee filter into halves 4 times. This will give a snowflake with 8 edges.
• Now you can start cutting your snowflake. Cut around the edges in different shapes. Cut half circles, half hearts, half diamonds, teardrops and all sorts of shapes to make a beautiful snowflake.
• Now, open the coffee filter to stare at pretty snowflakes.
• Tie a small thread on one end and hang it to your tree or just use some blue tack to stick it to the window.
